Flat Classroom Proposal:
Family Tapestry as part
Family History Month
Grade Level: 3rd
Project Idea: October is Family History Month! Students will learn about genealogy and research their family history and heritage and create a timeline or representation of their family history (preferably minimum of two generations). Tying it into our study of maps, they will plot points on a map (either nationally or internationally) as they discover where their families originated and where they are now. As a class, we can have family heritage day and have family members come in who are local or Skype with those who are long distance to learn more about students’ family histories.
